About Us
We are a
group of young people from Craghead - an old pit village in County Durham, in
the North East of England.
We are all volunteers who are involved with developing our personal skills and
projects within our community alongside
Groundwork
West Durham's Youth Workers, you can see some of our other projects below.
Our Youth Worker is Peter Butler.

During our time spent with Peter we developed the idea for a website and photography project, this gave us the skills to put this website together. Before we started on the website project we worked with Groundwork West Durham on the Craghead Miners Memorial Project.
The village had always wanted a memorial to the Miners from the Craghead Pit. As a group we applied for funding and were succesful in securing this. We employed an artist called Jim Roberts to produce the memorial. The Group attended various workshops to design and create the Miners Memorial. Beamish Museum donated the railway lines that the memorial sits on.
This is the launch event that took place in May 2002.
